 APPLICATION


The SODIMIX system can be use in any PAC slurry preparation process. Then main applications are Water and Waste water (pesticides and nitrate removal) as well as Flue gas treatment (Mercury removal).



 MAIN CONCERN


Powder Activated Carbon slurry preparation process raises some issues related to :

  • Dust inside tank room creating chemical waste and risks of explosion.
  • Difficult to mix leading feed rate limitation
  • PAC easily lump inside the slurry tank generating frequent checkups and cleaning operations




 OPERATION AND CHARACTERISTICS


In order to provide customers with dust free and homogenous PAC slurry preparation units, Sodimate has designed and patented a scattering and wetting unit, called SODIMIX.
 
Sodimate has designed and patented a dust-free PAC wetting unit avoiding dust emission  and increasing chemical solubility. The Wetting system consists of a plunging pipe connected with the dry feeder outlet chute into the slurry tank. A motor driven shaft with two small scattering/impellers blades ensure the pre mixing and wetting of the dry chemical into the plunging pipe.
 
The slurry tank supply water passes through an eductor. The vacuum opening of the eductor is hose connected to the dry feeder outlet to vacuum out the dust with the venture effect of the eductor.

The vacuumed air, charged with dust passes through a water filter in order to be filtrated. At the end of each slurry cycle the supply water is then diverted to the water filter to clean and discharge the filter particles into the dipping pipe without any operator assistance.
